【TeamLab Planet TOKYO】 Feel the whole body of next-generation art with your family

In this article, I will introduce TeamLab, which will be exhibited in Tokyo (Japan) until the end of 2023. I think that anyone can enjoy going out with friends, lovers, sightseeing, as well as parents and children. Stay time is about 60 to 90 minutes.

If you are interested in teamLab, I would be happy if you could refer to it. Play at your own pace, just like going to an art gallery or museum.

My eldest son (11 years old) and I will briefly explain how we visited. First of all, I'm glad that the location is right next to the station. If you walk a little, there is Toyosu Market, but be careful as there are no other convenience stores or restaurants.

We went on December 27, 2022. Elementary and junior high schools are on winter break, but many companies are still open, and it's not as crowded as I thought, as you can see in the photo below. About 30% is the image of foreign tourists. Information boards are also written in English, Chinese, and Korean.

With this level of congestion, it takes about 20 minutes to enter the entrance gate after starting to line up. Like an amusement park attraction line-up, proceed inside while dividing by several people. Once inside, take off your shoes, go further and get ready in the lockers.

Take off your socks in the locker (photo below). Other baggage and clothes are put away, so the only thing you have in your hand is your smartphone.

By the way, there is a QR code inside the locker, so if you scan it, you can participate later. By the way, in my case, I noticed it while preparing to go home...

After exiting the locker, there is a fork in the road (photo below). The first lap is the water area, and the second lap is the garden area, so we will depart from this place twice.

If you walk through a dark passageway, you will go uphill with flowing water. It is [Waterfall of light on the top of the slope]. You will be swallowed by the world view of teamLab. The children were delighted with the water and had a blast.

There is a waterfall (photo below). After seeing this fantastic scenery, we will continue to exercise the whole body at the next [soft black hole]. You can't really tell in the photo, but I made my way to the exit breathlessly as I sank into the soft cushions. The child was progressing smoothly, but the middle-aged father's legs are tough.

The photo below is [The Infinite Crystal Universe], which expresses "What is TeamLab?"
You can go around freely, but the scenery you see is a mysterious space, and the flow of light changes one after another, so you won't get tired of looking at it for a long time.

I think that if this kind of mechanism is implemented in public art museums, people will feel less resistance to art. All you can shoot with a camera, it's just the right amount of noise, and it feels good to share the excitement with everyone.

It is also a water area (photo below). [Drawing on the water surface drawn by carp dancing with people] is fun as the patterns drawn by the carp change one after another. The pattern is reflected on the white water, but it is a very mysterious space. BGM is also nice.

By the way, you will pass through a dark corridor (photo below) to each room, so it may be scary for small children. In fact, the customer base is about 10 to 50 years old. You can understand each other's position by talking about various things, but if you don't say anything, it seems that you will get separated.

The photo below is [Floating in the Falling Universe of Flowers], which feels like a little planetarium where flowers and birds explode freely. We lie down and are surrounded by the scenery reflected in the hemispherical dome. The change of scenery is not monotonous, so you can watch it for a long time.
This is the climax, and we went back to the entrance.

The garden area is basically outside, so you can appreciate it while feeling the sky. The photo below is [The Moss Garden of the Microcosm of Resonating Life]. I think it looks more beautiful at night. There were many people taking pictures with the glittering sculptures.

Next is [Floating Flower Garden] where the scenery reflected in the mirror is impressive. Here too, you can lie down, walk close to the upside-down flowers, or sit and look up at them, but it was the only place where I felt relieved (for me) being surrounded by real life. Personally, if the order of the water area and the garden area were reversed, it would be easier to get into the world view and it would be more interesting.

Anyway, my eldest son enjoyed everything! I was satisfied. He took a ton of shots with his camera and phone and shared them with his family on the spot.

Introduced with lots of pictures. It's an art that you can experience with your whole body, so I'd like you to visit it. TeamLab is a place where you want to go with people who want to share your excitement!
